00:04 When photographing objects that don't stand on their own, such as this mountain bike, it is a good idea to hang them on nylon strings. PhotoRobot happens to have a setup exactly for this purpose. Let's go downstairs where we can show you.
00:17 Welcome to our dark studio. Right behind me, you can see a heavy-duty portal, with one of our smallest PhotoRobots: the Cube_V5.
00:24 When photographing a 360 of a bike, of course, we can use a stand, such as this one. But when I want the bike to stand on its own, it is a much better idea to use nylon strings. Those are much easier to remove in post than any kind of physical support. On top of that, we can make sure that the bike is perfectly vertical at all times.
00:40 In this setup, we have a 1,5 m long bar equipped with several pulleys and clamps, which make the operator's life much easier.
00:48 Of course, if you want to, you can hang the bike in a normal position, which means by the handlebars and the saddle. You can even combine that with a turntable mounted on the bottom, and that can be synchronized with a _Cube at the top.
00:59 But today, we are going to show you a different method. Now, we will hang the bike upside-down. By doing it that way, the removal of the lines will be much easier. You just need to be careful when setting up the lights. And remember the reversed position.
01:12 The standard start-stop photography mode - that everybody else uses - is a complete nightmare. After you pause the rotation, the bike gets a wobble that lasts for ages, which makes this unusable.
01:24 You probably remember our fantastic non-stop spin mode, the one in which we do not pause the rotation to take the picture. But even then, it would get a wobble if we just started the rotation and photography right away.
01:36 Our software makes it possible to set a defined amount of time to let the object self stabilize. So the photoshoot itself starts when everything is perfectly smooth, and it takes just seconds.
01:47 And just like that, it's done. Even with a long, calm-down time, we have 36 images of each bike ready in much less than two minutes, including image processing and online publishing.
